TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: team Mumbai Indians bagged Yuzvendra Chahal for 6.50 crores
Yuzvendra Chahal bought for 6.50 crores by team Rajasthan royals after giving a tough competition to Mumbai Indians. Surprisingly RCB didn’t bid for the leg spinner.
The outstanding spinner was mocked for his tactics in the South African series but was able to restore his fame by showing an exceptional performance in West Indies ODI series held in India.
The team released the player before it retained him. This is not the first time he has been released from a team. During the 2018 auction, he was released by the team, only to be re-acquired by them. In 2020, he was one of the contenders for the purple cap, but he lost out to Delhi Capitals’ pacer Kagiso Rabada.
Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the best spinners in Indian cricket. He began his IPL career in 2013 with the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. The following year, he was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore. During his 113 games played for the three-time finalists, the leg spinner has 139 scalps to his name, averaging 22.28 and a 7.59 economy.
