On Wednesday, online food delivery companies Zomato and Swiggy, as well as several other online platforms, had a temporary statewide outage. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers fell down at the same time on Wednesday afternoon, according to the website outage monitoring tool DownDetector, indicating that it may have caused the brief outage. It could not, however, be verified.
According to DownDetector, 55 percent of users had issues with AWS server connections, while 38 percent had issues with AWS Console.
AWS has not yet responded, but Zomato and Swiggy both tweeted that they were working to resolve the “temporary malfunction.”
After a roughly half-hour outage, both food delivery applications were restored. While services have been restored, consumers have already expressed their dissatisfaction on social media. The meal delivery apps have yet to issue an official statement.
