MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 Processor
To start with the architecture, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 is an octa-core processor with four Cortex X4 cores and four Cortex A720 cores. The prime Cortex X4 core is clocked at 3.25 GHz, while the other three Cortex X4 cores have a clock speed of 2.85 GHz. The other four Cortex A720 cores are clocked at 2.00 GHz. The chipset is also integrated with the Immortalis G720 GPU and supports LPDDR5T (@9600Mbps) RAM and UFS 4.0 storage with MCQ(Multi-Circular Queue) support.
Comparing MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset with that of last year’s Dimensity 9200 chipset from the brand, the latest Dimensity 9300 offers both an improved CPU performance and an improved GPU performance. The CPU performance have been increased by 40% and a 46% increase is brought to the GPU side. To add, along with the improvements in CPU and GPU performance, the brand has also reduced the CPU and GPU power consumption by 33% and 40%, respectively.
Coming to its listing on benchmark platforms, the brand has revealed that on the Geekbench database, a multi-core score ranging between 7500 points and 8000 points was achieved by the Dimensity 9300 processor, whereas on the AnTuTu platform, the chipset scored 22,00,000+ points.
Other key specifications include MediaTek APU 790 (Generative AI) incorporation, sub-6GHz/mmWave (@7.9Gbps), Wi-Fi 7 (@6.5Gbps), Bluetooth 5.4, up to 320MP camera sensor(18-bit ISP), 8K @30fps – 4K @60fps video capturing, and 4K display(up to 120Hz)/WQHD display(up to 180Hz).
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset is going to compete head-to-head with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm, both in terms of performance and efficiency. We can also expect smartphone brands to soon announce their flagship devices that will debut with the latest Dimensity 9300 onboard. Vivo X100, Vivo X100 Pro, and OPPO Find X7 are some of the devices to feature it.
