MediaTek launched Dimensity 8300 5G chipset with generative AI capabilities and performance improvements
After launching, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset company has announced the much-awaited Dimensity 8300, a new mid-range chipset. It is based on TSMC’s 2nd generation 4nm process. Its CPU comprises 4 ARM Cortex A715 cores with 4 ARM Cortex A510 cores. As per the company, the new processor offers a 20 percent boost in performance and 30 percent peak gains in power efficiency.
It packs Mali G615 MC6 GPU that is said to offer 60 percent increased power while consuming 55 percent less power. It features a dedicated APU 780 AI processor that can run generative AI models with up to 10 billion parameters on the device. It can support maximum RAM speed up to 8300MHz and comes with the support for the latest standard UFS 4.0.
It has MediaTek’s 14-bit HDR ISP Imagiq 980 that promises sharper, clearer video at 4K60 HDR. Its HyperEngine adaptive game technology offers advanced power-saving enhancements. The chipset is announced to intelligently adapt to the computing demands and monitor the device temperature, keeping the device cool while optimizing gameplay so that gamers can enjoy gaming without any lag.
The Dimensity 8300 supports ultra-fast speed with a built-in 3GP Release-16 standard 5G modem. It’s said to achieve a peak download speed of up to 5.17 Gbps on the 5G network and comes with WiFi 6E support.
Redmi K70E is confirmed to be powered by Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, a custom chip for Xiaomi. This smartphone will be launched in China later this month.
