Apple rolled out iOS 17.1 RC update, resolving image retention issue earlier understood as screen burn

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has reportedly rolled out the Release Candidate(RC) versions of iOS 17.1 to public testers and developers. As per the report by MacRumors, the iOS 17.1 RC update began rolling out on Tuesday thus introducing a number of new features and addressing issues. One of the issues about images staying on the screen, which earlier users understood as screen burn, has been solved with this update. This suggests that it was a software issue but not a hardware issue.

Another issue related to screen time resetting by itself has also been addressed and resolved with this update.

Users can now mark songs, playlists, and artists as favorites that will be added to their library and will be used for personalized suggestions. Those who use Airdrop would be able to send files over the internet that earlier required users to bring their iPhones close to each other.

The update also brings some other notable features though the Journal app is still missing. We are expected to experience it with the iOS 17.2 beta soon. As of now, it’s iOS 17.1 release candidate is out and its official release date is expected to be October 24.
