Google to Bring New Apps, Features and Updates to Wear OS: Check it Out

Google has been bringing a lot of updates and new features to many of its services and the giant tech company is also now going to bring a few more new features and updates to its Wear OS operating system, specially designed for Google Pixel Watch and Samsung’s Galaxy Watches.

Here are the new features and updates that are soon to arrive on Wear OS.

New Features and Updates Coming to Wear OS

New controls are coming to the Google Home app with which its users will be able to see the person who rang the Nest doorbell on their notification and will also be able to unlock the door remotely. A new Home panel setup along with easier ways to view the Nest cameras are also part of the new features that are coming to Google’s Home app.

Users will also be able to access Gmail and Google Calendar on their smartwatches with the new update. They will be able to respond quickly to their mails, update statuses in Calendar, check schedules and also view and respond to events.

WhatsApp will be launching its first ever smartwatch app within a few weeks, after which WhatsApp can be accessed on Wear OS. With access to WhatsApp, Wear OS users will be able to start a new conversation, respond to a message with voice and will also be able to answer calls directly from the smartwatch without having to take out their phone.

New tiles will also be introduced to Wear OS of which three new tiles are for the Spotify app. Wear OS users will be able to see the new episodes of their favourite podcasts, see the next song waiting in the queue and also check out curated list of music selected by Spotify’s DJs. A new Peloton tile will also be added, enabling the Wear OS users to track and reach their fitness goals.

Apart from these listed features, Google has also promised that the company will bring many more features and updates to the Wear OS custom UI. In partnership with Samsung, Google has also now launched Watch Face Format, giving developers and designers the space to create new watch faces.
