Nothing announced OS 2.5 Beta 1 based on Android 14 for Nothing Phone(2) users

London-based Nothing has announced the Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1 for Nothing Phone(2) users. This new update is based on Android 14. As per the Nothing recent X post users can expect this update from tomorrow. As of now the company has not shared any directives to install this update but is expected to share tomorrow as it wrote “Users check back tomorrow for more details”.

Selected Nothing Phone(2) users who registered for the Nothing OS 2.5 closed beta program just recently received the update. Users shared the screenshot of the update on a Telegram community group that showed Android 14 main updates and Nothing OS update. It also revealed that the update is 1.01 GB large.

As per the screenshot shared by a closed beta user Android 14 main updates include

A new back navigation experience
Separate controls for ringtone and notification volumes.
A new charging indicator on the status bar.
Customize your unit and number preferences through new regional settings in Settings> System> Languages> Regional preferences.
Grant Limited access to your photos and videos with the new media permission feature.
Less battery drain thanks to optimized battery operations.
More UI and feature tweaks await your discovery.
