Redmi K60 Extreme Edition becomes the first batch to receive the latest HyperOS closed beta upgrade
The Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has been introducing smartphones that run on MIUI custom skin for a long time now. Recently the brand has decided to shift to a new operating system- HyperOS. Xiaomi announced HyperOS as its new operating system in China in October. It was said that Xiaomi will soon be upgrading its smartphones and tablets from MIUI to HyperOS in China while the rollout roadmap was also released by the company.
Today it has been officially announced that Redmi K60 Extreme Edition is the first batch to receive the HyperOS upgrade in China. It is the official version of the closed beta that arrives with firmware build 1.0.4.0.UMLCNXM. The size of this version is 6GB.
To apply for the official version of closed testing users need to keep in mind that Xiaomi community level 4 or above is required.
HyperOS: Features
Connectivity has also been emphasized to give control of all connected devices from anywhere users want with HyperConnect. It includes functions like switching camera sources, accessing cameras from various devices, and smooth data transfer between devices. HyperMind the AI center intelligently learns the users’ needs and adapts devices accordingly. The new HyperOS integrates large foundation models. It supports features like speech recognition, image search, and AI artwork creation.
User security has also been emphasized with dedicated hardware TEE that safeguards users’ sensitive information and extends this safety to other interconnected devices too. This new OS brings users several new customization features for the lock screen with new templates, fonts, and widgets.
