Xiaomi’s MIUI has powered Xiaomi phones for more than a decade and came into existence even before the Xiaomi phones. There have been several new updates and recently came MIUI 14. While the tech market was buzzing with the news of MIUI 15, HyperOS ruled out any such speculations.
Xiaomi announced the HyperOS as its new operating system today in China. It is said to have the smallest firmware size and deliver the best performance.
To begin with, this new OS brings users several new customization features for the lock screen with new templates, fonts, and widgets. There is also refinement in the control centre while app icons look similar as we have seen earlier.
Xiaomi HyperOS relies on Linux and Xiaomi’s self-developed Xiaomi Vela system. This allows it to work efficiently with various devices. It makes sure to schedule tasks and manage the resource in such a way as to deliver stable performance to the device.
Connectivity has also been emphasized to give control of all connected devices from anywhere users want with HyperConnect. It includes functions like switching camera sources, accessing cameras from various devices, and smooth data transfer between devices. HyperMind the AI center intelligently learns the users’ needs and adapts devices accordingly.
The new HyperOS integrates large foundation models. It supports features like speech recognition, image search, and AI artwork creation. User security has also been emphasized with dedicated hardware TEE that safeguards users’ sensitive information and extends this safety to other interconnected devices too.
