Elon Musk shares letter from Stanford lecturer who could’ve been his professor if he had continued his studies

Elon Musk, who is well known for leading an unconventional life and shocking followers with his tweets, has once again captured the attention of users with his most recent post. Early on August 20, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk posted a picture of an old letter he had received from Stanford University Professor (Emeritus) William D. Nix on his official Twitter account. Musk believed that Nix may have been his professor if he hadn’t decided to retire. The professor was applauding Musk in the letter, which was written on June 14, for his “description of the issues of employing Si for lithium battery anodes.” Musk labelled the letter “Nice” and included an image with it.

Here are the content of the letter shared by Elon Musk:

“Nice letter from Bill Nix, who would’ve been my prof at Stanford if I hadn’t placed grad studies on (permanent) deferment,” Musk captioned the photo of the letter he shared. The letter’s introduction made it clear that Professor Nix was reacting to a recent interview with Elon Musk. It said, “You suggested meeting me at Stanford in 1995 as your prospective lecturer if you had enrolled in Stanford’s graduate programme. This was highlighted in a recent interview titled: Elon Musk on the Early Days of Tesla: Interview Part 1, which was put on YouTube. For the benefit of those who are unaware, Musk is a Stanford dropout.
