The international Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Hafeez announced his retirement
Former Pakistani cricketer, Mohammed Hafeez announced his retirement from international cricket on Monday after 18 years of playing for his country on Monday, January 3. The last time he played international cricket was Pakistan’s defeat against Australia at the T20 World Cup last November. He made his debut in 2003, in an ODI against Zimbabwe.
The International Cricket Council even tweeted, “Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has announced his retirement from international cricket. Among all Pakistani players, he holds the fourth-highest ranking in international cricket.

Mohammad Hafeez had originally planned to retire from international cricket after last year’s T20 World Cup. Due to the postponement of last year’s tournament, his stint as an international cricketer also got extended. He retired from test matches before the postponement. For the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League, the 41-year-old will continue to play franchise-based T20 leagues with the Lahore Qalandars. The player will be eligible for participation in various such tournaments around the world.
Tests were Hafeez’s last in 2018. He made 3652 runs in 55 matches, and he scored 10 hundreds.
