Two mini Guided MacBook Pros from Apple to launch in 2021
According to Kuo, Apple is also designing a more affordable MacBook Air with a mini-LED display for 2022.
The new forecasts from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo are in and this time it’s for mini LED devices from the iPhone manufacturer. In 2021, Kuo expects Apple to accelerate the transition to mini LED devices with shipments of between 10 and 12 million units.
The number of mini LED units that Apple is scheduled to ship in 2021 and Kuo has raised the following year. It had previously estimated 2 to 3 million units for 2021, and 9to5Mac reported between 4 and 5 million units for 2022. Kuo says that two factors have contributed to this rise where one is going to be better on the cost increase in the next two years, and the other will be better than expected on the adoption rate of mini LED panels for MacBooks.
Kuo has previously said that Apple would launch Macs with an all-new form factor style in 2021. It is said that the lineup includes two redesigned MacBook Pros and mini LED screens, too. There’s also a MacBook Air scheduled for 2022 with a mini LED panel. Kuo says this would be a “more affordable” MacBook Air.
Kuo also said that the largest driver of mini LED panel shipments would be the latest MacBooks. This will raise MacBook shipments over three years by about 100 per cent to 30-35 million units each year. Kuo anticipates the latest silicon chips from Apple and the new nature of the form factor as the other main factors driving this development.
It is also said that Apple is launching mini LED iPads, which will likely be the first to be launched next year. As early as Q1 2021, we might see the first mini LED appliances from Apple.
