Blue bird with lot of secrets, get to know all about Twitter’s malpractices and reach control method

Twitter is a bird full of secrets and conspiracies that was hard to catch until Twitter Files arrived. Since it has come on Twitter it is revealing a number of shocking news and working ways of the earlier Twitter model. This is a result of extensive talks with Twitter’s former employees who came forth to share the inside story of Twitter.

This series came to light through the account of Bari Weiss, founder of The Free Press.  Twitter Files investigation teams found that Twitter employees built a blacklist, to prevent disfavored tweets from trading and limit the visibility of the account. This means that it’s not a criterion that your post should have something that violates Twitter rules and regulations, it can still be banned just if Twitter wants.

Twitter used to make sure that it reduces the reach of those content that it understands to be violating though sometime it might not be. This social media platform came with the vision to give people the power to create and share ideas and information without barriers. But Twitter files reveal a contrast to its vision with which it came and rose to the top and became one of the top most platform used all across the world by delegates and officials.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya’s Tweet

Twitter Files thread shared about Dr. Jay Bhattacharya’s Tweet from Stanford as an example to give an insight into how Twitter works. Basically, Dr. Jay took his Twitter to say that Covid lockdowns would harm children and Twitter did not like it. Twitter secretly placed him on a trends blacklist which prevented his Tweets from trending. This thread has one more example that is about Dan Bongino who was slapped with a search blacklist. It shows that Twitter was following an arbitrary set of rules that didn’t make any sense, especially while shadowing some of the Tweets that could be eye-opening to users on Twitter.

On such issues, Twitter has earlier responded by saying that “we certainly don’t shadow ban based on political viewpoint or ideology”. This is not true anymore we certainly know this by now. The shadow banning is called visibility filtering by Twitter employees which reflects the real meaning of it. One of the Twitter employees said that they control the amplification of content quite a bit. And according to him, normal users don’t know about the extent of this control.

A secret group in Twitter Files

A piece of news about a secret group also came in news through Twitter Files that included the Head of Legal Policy, Global Head, and CEO of Twitter. Some of the biggest and most sensitive decisions were made here it could be political, technical, or anything that decides the fate of thousands of people out there who believes that social media shows the truth. Can you imagine the suspension of a Twitter account without any convincing reason that’s too not once or twice it’s six times?

The same happened with one of the user name Chaya Raichik who boasts 1.4 million followers and was subjected to six suspensions in 2022. She was informed that her Twitter was suspended because of hateful conduct. But just after the sixth suspension committee acknowledged that her account did not engage in a hateful violating activity. It also came to know that when someone allegedly shared her personal address on Twitter she tried to report but Twitter’s response shook her from the core.

Twitter responded by saying that the content was not violating any norms. The whole story reflects the biasedness and unfairness of Twitter that maintained to increase the reach of the content that it understood was good enough to be supported.

They made sure that every other content don’t get equal reach. It creates a sense of disbelief on Twitter though Musk is trying to increase user engagement multifold than the previous times and he has started allowing suspended accounts.
