Nothing CEO, Carl Pei Mocks at JBL
The CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei has mocked at JBL for copying their transparent design through the micro-blogging platform, Twitter. Pei has shared an image of the TWS earbuds with a caption “JB-L” which is a play on the brand’s name. Twitter users have both supported and criticized his action.
Copying the design of one’s rival company has taken place in the past and will take place in the future as well. But when Carl Pei found out that JBL is making earbuds similar to their Nothing Ear(Stick), he took out his rage on the Twitter platform.
Many came to support him and his action and has commented on how he has been making unique inventions in the gadgets world.
But many Twitter users has also spoken against him and has criticized him regarding how he claims that the transparent design is his company’s own unique design.
JBL themselves has a earbuds called the JBL Tune 225TWS ghost edition which has a transparent design and which was launched 2 years back. The HTC U12+ smartphone also has a transparent design and was released a lot many years before the Nothing Phone 1.
Twitter users have also criticized Carl Pei regarding how the Nothing Phone 1 is just an iPhone with a transparent design.
Thus Carl Pei’s action was received with mixed response on Twitter. JBL has also not confirmed anything about such a product which they are planning to release.
