Carl Pei visited Nothing’s manufacturing facility in Chennai

Nothing founder Carl Pei visited the manufacturing facility in Chennai and has shared his reflections on Twitter. He wrote that there has been a significant improvement to last year in cleanliness, security, and processes. Carl also shared the challenges the manufacturing unit faces while making the characteristic transparent tech of Nothing. And they make sure that production line staff stays covered from tip to toe through a whole-body uniform. Two layers of anti-dust and static air showers make sure to keep dust away. And the floor is elevated metal mesh with water underneath, air humidifiers are installed at key locations.

Carl is optimistic about India’s electronic export which he mentioned “will grow rapidly”. He is aware of the “huge domestic market to support volume” and wrote that “as the supply chain matures, the cost will improve”. He has also shared the image of Nothing’s manufacturing facility in Chennai in which engineers can be seen in different compartments, covered with blue full-body suits.

His keen interest in the Indian market and export shows his awareness and optimism in the Indian market. In the comment section, Carl informed us that a documentary kind of video will soon be released showing the work at the Chennai manufacturing unit. Nothing Phone(2) will be launched on July 11th, 2023, in India and other global markets. And Nothing Phone(2) will be made in India. When the earlier Nothing Phone(1) came on the market, speculations were hovering that Nothing Phone(1) will be manufactured in India but it didn’t happen.
