Congress MP, Abdul Khaleque Tweets that Messi was Born in Assam: Realising the Folly, he Later Deletes it

After Argentina won the FIFA 2022 World Cup, Abdul Khaleque, a Congress MP tweeted congratulating Messi along with a claim that he is from Assam.

Was Messi Born in Assam?

The Congress MP, Abdul Khaleque made a claim after Argentina’s victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, that Messi is from Assam.

He first tweeted congratulating Messi and said that the country was proud of his connection with Assam. When a Twitter user asked him about his connection, Khaleque simply replied that he was born in Assam.

After realizing the mistake that he had made, Khaleque later deleted his tweet. But he was too late by then. Twitter is now filled with memes and trolls with the screenshot of Khaleque’s tweet.

Many even started to debate, for fun, where Messi is really from and even shared photoshopped pictures of him in different cultural attires.

Many Twitter users also clarified the actual birthplace of Messi, which was Rosario, Argentina. Even if Khaleque deleted his tweet, he is still being mocked for the silly mistake he has made.
