Elon Musk: “Less than 5% of Twitter daily users are fake/spam”

A bot account, commonly referred to as a phony account, is a user account that has been established automatically to send a message or publish data automatically. It can be used in marketing or politics. These accounts are mostly used for spamming random posts without any context or links to commercial websites. Differentiating between the numerous bot types that are accessible can be difficult. Some bot accounts utilize real IP addresses, while others use proxies (false IP addresses). While some bots have multiple accounts, others simply create new ones each time. Even while there is no foolproof method to identify rogue accounts, there are steps you can take to protect your website against them.

In a filing, Twitter calculated that less than 5% of its monetizable daily active user base during the first quarter consisted of phony or spam accounts. In Musk’s tweet, he said “Less than 5% of Twitter daily users are fake/spam”. Less than 5% of Twitter Inc.’s monetizable daily active users were linked to spam or fraudulent accounts during the first quarter, the company estimated in a filing. The social networking company served adverts to 229 million users in the first quarter.

The information was made public a few days after Tesla Inc. CEO and Twitter acquirer Elon Musk, who has agreed to spend $44 billion on the social media platform, said that one of his first priorities will be to remove “spam bots” from the network. Up until the Musk, the acquisition is completed, Twitter said in the statement, it faces a variety of risks, including “potential ambiguity over our future intents and strategy.”
