Facebook is blocking Russian state media from running ads on its platform
Facebook is obstructing Russian state agencies from operating advertisement on its platform anywhere in the nation.
The move appears after Russia told it would restrict access to the giant social system in the nation.
Nathaniel Gleicher, head of security strategy at Facebook, tweeted that they are now prohibiting Russian state media from running advertisements or monetizing on their platform anywhere in the world.
1/ We are now prohibiting Russian state media from running ads or monetizing on our platform anywhere in the world. We also continue to apply labels to additional Russian state media. These changes have already begun rolling out and will continue into the weekend.

It was not shortly clear whether the prohibition encompassed other properties under Meta, like Instagram.
Twitter, which prohibited advertising from nation-controlled media in 2019, said on Friday it was temporarily hesitating all advertisement in Ukraine and Russia to assure crucial public safety evidence is elevated and advertisements don’t distract from it.
Meta, Facebook’s parent corporation, tells the judgment to bench Russian state media from earning money on its platform comes in reaction to the incursion of Ukraine.
The the social system announces it has furthermore proceeding to tag state-owned media accounts.
