Flipkart’s Rs 11 iPhone 13 Deal: Real Bargain or Marketing Mirage?

Marketing skids are done by every e-commerce brand, or even by some retailers, to attract customers. And as this is the festive season, both online and offline retailers are offering heavy discounts. Flipkart is amongst them, having released a banner claiming the iPhone 13, which costs around Rs 49,990, for just Rs 11. Yes, but it had some stipulation that the sale would be live at 11:11 PM IST on 22nd September 2024. And just like everyone, even I had my hands on the ‘Buy Now’ button.

But for some strange reason, every time I clicked on the Buy Now button, it just kept on shooting error messages. And my purchase didn’t happen. So I wondered if maybe my luck wasn’t that good. So I started digging more into it. Guess what I found: several people had posted on X claiming the same, that the sale didn’t happen. But rather just a few of them have posted that they did get that deal.

And now it is off the shelves from Flipkart, and a banner has been updated with a sold-out message. So what do you all think? Was it just a marketing gimmick, or will some people actually get it? If you are among the lucky ones, you can simply tag us, and we will update this story as well.
