Alphabet Inc.’s Google, the California-based tech company, has again brought an interesting feature for its users as we come to the end of this year. Along with Recap, they will also be receiving other related yearly insights as well.

Google Photos – Recap and Other Related Yearly Insights
As mentioned, the Recap function brings your past year’s memories together to you and if the notification is turned on in Google Photos, you will be notified once it is ready. Apart from the Recap, insights like ‘Longest Streak'(longest photo streak of the year), ‘Year in Smiles'(number of smiles and with whom), ‘Your Top Faces'(all star cast moments), ‘Year in Color'(color palette of the year), and ‘Your 2024 Vibes'(top three personas) will also be provided. It must also be ensured that the Face Groups option is turned on and enough photos have been taken throughout the year.
These new collections of memories will be available to users starting today. If you are a web user, navigate to ‘photos.google.com’ and find these at the top of the web page. Android and iOS users will just have to open their Google Photos application, tap on ‘Photos’, and see it listed at the top. The Recap memory as well as the other related insights will be there at the top till the end of this month/year, and then, will be moved to the pinned memories under December.
To add, users can also receive enhanced Recap with Gemini, featuring personalized captions and highlighting two biggest memories of the year. If you are in the US and above 18 years old, the opt-in Gemini features on Google Photos (invite only) will be available to you. Enable it, and also Face Groups, estimated locations, and backup, on the latest version of Google Photos to receive enhanced Recap. However, it should be noted that this is an experimental feature and may not always turn out right.
