Kangana Ranaut will return her Padma Shri if she’s proven wrong on the freedom comment and asks, “Which war did take place in 1947?”
Kangana Ranaut has stated that she is willing to return her Padma Shri and apologise if her remark on "freedom" is shown to be incorrect.
After being chastised for her remark on “freedom,” Kangana Ranaut defended herself. The actor stated that she is willing to return her Padma Shri if she can learn more about the events of 1947.
Kangana has previously stated that India gained independence in 2014, when the Narendra Modi-led administration took power, and had referred to India’s independence in 1947 as “bheek,” or alms.
The actor used Instagram Stories to publish some chapters from a book that he wrote “simply to clear the air.” “Everything is very clearly described in the same interview 1857 first collective fight for freedom… along with greats like Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmibai, and Veer Savarkar ji’s sacrifice,” she wrote.
1857 I know, but I’m not sure which war occurred in 1947; if someone can inform me, I’ll return my Padma Shri and apologise as well… Please assist me with this.”
“I worked on a feature film about a martyr Rani Laxmi Bai… carefully researched on the first fight for freedom in 1857… nationalism surged, right wing rose… but why did it die so suddenly?” she continued. And why did Gandhi allow Bhagat Singh to die… why was Neta Bose murdered and never received Gandhi’s support? Why was the division line drawn by a white man…? Instead of celebrating freedom, why did Indians kill each other? These are some of the questions I’m looking for, and I’d appreciate it if you could assist me in finding answers.”
Kangana Ranaut has stated that she is prepared to face the repercussions of her actions. “As far as Aazadi in 2014 is concerned, I specifically stated that physical Aazadi we may have, but the consciousness and conscience of India was set free in 2014… a dead civilisation came alive and fluttered its wing and is now roaring and soaring high… today for the first time… people can’t shame us for not speaking English, coming from small towns, or using made in India products… everything is articulate and clear in the same interview… lekin jo chor hain
While the Aam Aadmi Party filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police Department seeking a prosecution against her for “seditious and provocative” remarks, MPs from all parties, including BJP MP Varun Gandhi, were outraged by her remarks.
