Manforce’s AI condom ad is the April Fools’ prank no one expected

As soon as the 1st of April arrived, it brought with it a flood of bizarre and hilarious announcements — some from tech giants, and others from brands you wouldn’t normally expect. While many posted outright silly concepts, a few had just the right balance of creativity and believability to make people pause. That’s the whole point of April Fools’ Day, isn’t it? To keep us guessing.

This time, it wasn’t a tech brand that stole the show. It was Manforce, one of India’s most recognisable condom brands, that caught everyone off guard with a prank that started on Instagram. The company posted what looked like a serious announcement for the world’s first AI-powered condom — and yes, they went all in.

The post introduced a futuristic product called Dot AI, complete with sci-fi features like FlexFit AI 360, PulseSync, and even AI-controlled vibrational dots. It also showed a mobile app interface that supposedly tracks performance metrics such as:

  • satisfaction score
  • strokes per minute
  • duration

Some of the more “technical” features listed in the ad included:

  • pressure adaptive fit with intelligent pressure zones
  • 1869 vibrational dots (very specific)
  • and of course, the cheeky tagline: “I don’t just protect, I perform.”

It didn’t take long for people to realise the post was part of a well-executed April Fools’ campaign, but by then, it had already gone viral. Reactions flooded the comments — a mix of laughter, disbelief, and appreciation for the clever concept.

What makes this stunt stand out is not just the humour, but the fact that it came from a non-tech brand that jumped into the AI conversation with unexpected flair. While others were faking smart gadgets and robots, Manforce may have delivered one of the most creative and talked-about pranks of the day.

The AI-powered condom might not be real — but the attention it got definitely is.
