Mumbai Police arrests three for the Clubhouse app case
Three youths have been arrested by Mumbai Police for torturing and abusing women on Clubhouse app .
The cyber cell of Mumbai crime branch had taken into consideration the abusive and derogatory chats made against the woman . Jaishnav Kakkar (21), Yash Parashar(22) have been arrested from Faridabad. Yash Parashar has been alleged to be the moderator of the chat room .The third accuse Akash Suyal(19) has been arrested from Karnal. All the three accused are being deported to Mumbai .Officials stated that Yash Parashar is a law student while Akash has completed his Class 12 and Jaishnav has studies from commerce stream.
In a statement ,Milind Bharambe, JCP(Crime) said ,”A complaint had been lodged on January 19 by a woman art the Cyber police station following which an FIR was registered. In her complaint woman had alleged that the participants of the Clubhouse chats had used objectionable remarks against women.” He also added ,”There were many participants in the chat room involved in giving derogatory statements about women and talking about auctioning female body parts”.
Cyber police has registered the case under IPC sections 153(a), 295(a), 354(a),354(d) and section 67 of IT act 2000. In the investigation, it has been found that two chat rooms were created on January 16 and January 19 on the audio chat app.
A case had also been registered about a derogatory chat against a Muslim women by a Mumbai based organisation.
