Parag Agrawal, the CEO of Twitter, has restructured the company’s top leadership staff

On December 31, two senior people in Twitter's leadership will step down from their jobs.

According to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, newly-appointed Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has announced a massive reorganization of the company’s top executives.

On December 31, two significant persons in leadership positions, engineering head Michael Montano and design and research lead Dantley Davis, will step down. According to the filing, they will remain advisors through the end of the first quarter of 2022. Montano has been with the organization since 2011, and Davis has been with it since 2019.

Last week, Agrawal took over as Twitter’s new CEO, replacing Jack Dorsey. The Indian-American engineer, who has been with Twitter since 2011, was formerly the company’s Chief Technology Officer.

The adjustments are part of a transformation in Twitter’s organizational architecture, according to the technology news website TechCrunch. Agrawal is moving the leadership team to a general manager style for consumer, revenue, and core tech, according to the public filing. Kayvon Beykpour, Bruce Falck, and Nick Caldwell will be in charge of these.

Lindsey Iannucci, a new Chief of Staff and Vice President of Operations, will also join the team.

“Dantley’s departure is singularly focused around shifting our organizational model around a structure that has one lead manager supporting a key company objective,” a Twitter spokesperson told TechCrunch, referring to the departure of Chief Design Officer Davis, whose policies were reportedly not well-received by the team.

“We don’t have any additional information on these adjustments due to the individuals involved,” the spokeswoman continued.

“Parag is focused on operational excellence and setting Twitter up to accomplish its goals; these modifications were made with that in mind,” the spokesman stated of the above-mentioned changes in organizational paradigm. We’re transitioning to a General Manager model for our product and technology teams, with one person in charge of work that supports one of our core corporate objectives. This will help us to work more cross-functionally and make better decisions more quickly.”
