Reddit User Complaints About Dark Patch Issue In 4 Days Old Motorola Edge 50 Pro Display

What if you purchase a new smartphone and just after two days of using the device you witness issues in the display? A disheartening situation right, well a Motorola user seems to have gone through a similar situation recently.

A user on Reddit named Anark8191 shared that he purchased a Motorola Edge 50 Pro device two days back, while using the device in low brightness at 5% or completely 0% in a dark room or complete darkness, a few black patches made their appearance on the screen. The user has shared the image, marking those patches. It is also further specified in the comment section that the issue occurred when the device was taken out of the box.

It was revealed that when the user asked the retailer for a replacement, the retailer denied replacement citing the non-availability of a defective certificate while reaching the service center he complained about his issue but was denied a defective or DOA certificate due to the seller being Amazon. Seems like the user has now got stuck in the middle as neither his device is replaced nor he is provided with a DOA certificate.

A user in the comment section has also provided a trial that can help in resolving the black patch issue. Edge 50 Pro users are advised to disable flicker prevention in the display settings as it can cause such issues in very low brightness.
