Samsung took the green lines issue into consideration but seems Galaxy S20+ users are still facing it

Back in December last year we brought to you the news of the green lines issue in Samsung S20+ phones. This issue was spotted by users on their screens after they updated their phones to Android 12. It became so problematic for the users that they could barely use it.

Users took their Twitter account to show their outrage and Samsung did not take this outrage lightly. It started repairing the phones of users that were even out of warranty period. This has been confirmed by a Twitter username dotnick who wrote “while the cracked screen is a poor representation of the issue, it a problem with these devices (Samsung offered a repair program here in VN but they decided to do it for only a few months(July to Dec 2022) so even worse than Apple’s 4 years from sold date bs lmao”.

Further, the user has shared an official guideline document that Samsung shared with its service centers. The document shows in the guideline “There are a few VOCs from customers regarding Line in display in their handset during our warranty period without any physical damage or waterlogged in”.

The document also shows that this service was only available from July to Dec of last year which is only about a few months and it should have been more than that. Because this issue is about the update that Samsung rolled out and caused this problem. While Samsung can be lauded for its fast response it can be also complained about for such a short time for this repair.

We recently did a story on how OnePlus 8T users were also facing the same issue, but they were offered a free screen replacement by OnePlus. However, Samsung also did the same to help the users but only till December 2022. We hope Samsung looks at this and give a fair resolution to its ever-expanding user base.
