Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra – Supports 45W Fast Charging Without a 5A Cable?
This update which has been shared online (received via the X tipster @theonecid), points out that the two already-released Galaxy S25 series smartphones supporting 45W wired charging capability – the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra models, unlike their predecessors doesn’t necessarily need a 5A cable to get 45W fast charging speed.
Yes, the latest Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone devices support or utilize 15V 3A profile, unlike their predecessors which depended on 10V 4.5A profile. While the previous models were able to make use of the 45W charging capability only with a 5A cable, any USB PD cable paired with a 45W charging adapter is enough to get 45W fast charging speed on the latest Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra devices. Users of the mentioned devices thus won’t have to check whether or not the charging accessory supports PPS or if it is a 5A cable.
Additionally, there is one more advantage with the integration of the 15V 3A profile. The same amount of energy can be delivered onto the devices with a lower amount of current. This makes the charging experience more efficient, along with reduced heat generation. To note, this is reportedly the reason why many users have been sharing about the faster charging experience when compared with the previous models.
