There are no penalties for fake news, even things that are black and white wrong…
Articles, images, and videos that are posted with the goal of spreading misleading information or content that is factually incorrect are referred to as “fake news.” These news tales, which are meant to startle, get people’s attention, or shape opinions, could appear to be true at first. Fake news can be created by individuals or groups acting in their own or other people’s best interests. Misinformation is regularly spread with the intention of achieving personal, political, or commercial goals.
It’s not a new practice to spread incorrect information to sway people’s perceptions about various issues. Political articles or spectacular headlines have been used to spread misinformation and propaganda since the invention of print media. In a short amount of time, fake news can gain widespread recognition.
Talking of fake news, WazirX and finance have been in a state of dispute regarding their ownership entails. The dispute stems from Binance denying it has any control over WazirX’s trading operations.
Binance recently tweeted a quote “There are no penalties for fake news, even things that are black and white wrong, only more clicks…”

Keeping this in mind, when we talk about fake news, there is no rules and regulations against it as such. News can be published without charge under Article 19 of the Constitution, which also guarantees freedom of speech. If a newspaper or news organization is found to have broken journalistic ethics, the Press Council of India, a regulatory body, may issue a warning, reprimand, censure, or disapprove of the editor’s or journalist’s behavior.
It can be difficult to control fake news because doing too much to do so could hurt democracy while not regulating trolls could lead to national and international turmoil. Many Twitter users replied to the tweet by finance saying that it’s high time there should be rules and regulations and punishments for people voluntarily spreading fake news.
