Three Employees Resign From Twitter’s Trust and Safety Council: Let’s Hear What Musk has to Say

Three of the Trust and Safety Council members of Twitter resign pointing out the decline in the safety and well-being of Twitter users. Twitter’s decision to content moderation will lead to a lot of issues, says the resigned employees.

Let’s hear what Musk has to say about this.

Twitter Trust and Safety Council

A recent tweet on Twitter by Anne Collier states that three of the Twitter Trust and Safety members, including her have resigned from their roles. Anne Collier and her colleagues Eirliani Abdul Rahman and Lesley Podesta had been working with the Twitter Trust and Safety Council for quite a few years ensuring the safety and well-being of Twitter users.

They claim that ever since Elon Musk has taken charge of Twitter, it has become a platform without the joy it previously had. Slurs against Black Men and Gay Men have significantly raised. Antisemitic posts are also now being shared on the platform. The decision of automated content moderation has seriously affected the safety of Twitter users.

Musk has come forward to tell his side of the matter. The Trust and Safety Council of Twitter led by Anne Collier, Eirliani Abdul Rahman, and Lesley Podesta has not taken the issue of child safety matters seriously.

A user has also posted on Twitter regarding a previous action by the Trust and Safety Council members where they weren’t ready to remove child porn-related images and videos shared on the platform saying that it didn’t violate Twitter policies.

Instead of taking the right action, Twitter was focussing on things that weren’t really important. Musk has made it clear that child safety is now a top priority of Twitter.

Many users have come forward criticizing the actions of Anne Collier, Eirliani Abdul Rahman, and Lesley Podesta. Musk has also stated that Ella Irwin, the person who currently takes charge of Twitter’s Trust and Safety had brought the matter of child safety before the council. Her request to look into the matter was rejected without giving the proper importance to it.

Users are really shocked to learn of what had been taking place inside Twitter for the past few years. Some users have also raised their voices against Musk stating that he is trying to propagate right winged politics.

Whatever the case is, Elon Musk with his tweet has made it clear that child safety is a top priority of Twitter.
