Twitter has finally changed the name from Birdwatch to Community Notes, check details
In a series of tweets by Twitter’s new Community Notes showed that now Elon Musk is gone for a major overhaul at Twitter. The thread on Twitter starts with a meme that showed two images in which logos of both bird watch and Community Notes can be seen. Next to that, it was written Corporate needs to find a difference between the two, and below that was Elon Musk saying No Difference at all.
The birdwatch oops Community notes stated in the same thread that:
Birdwatch is now Community Notes. We’ve seen our contributors trying to explain what Birdwatch is, and we think a simpler, more intuitive name will help understanding. Hence Community Notes. It’s… what it is.
This isn’t just a random new name. It’s actually Birdwatch’s very first name. Before there was a Birdwatch, before there was anyone building this thing, there was a design mockup envisioning the idea, and you know what it was called?
