Twitter will soon add additional icons to share context about different Twitter accounts. This will happen to start today onwards. The grey check marks will be available for the government as well as multilateral accounts. The grey checks will reportedly indicate that it is an official account of a government-affiliated institution or authority.
These institutions may include those from areas such as public safety, and law enforcement as well as various top national government agencies. Official spokespersons and top government officials can also use the grey check marks to signify the same. These grey check marks will be added to the previous blue and gold check marks already in existence.
Further, square affiliation badges will be used for select businesses on Twitter.
