An Instagram paid membership feature that will enable content producers and influencers to charge their followers a monthly fee in exchange for exclusive material has just been detected in India. A purple emblem will appear next to the username of users who have subscribed to their favourite producers. These users also have access to special Instagram live videos and stories.
Although it has been seen in India as well, the functionality is only officially accessible to a small number of content producers in the US. Indian users can now subscribe to certain creators, according to recent screenshots supplied by a Twitter user.
By making in-app purchases through the App Store or Play Store, users can subscribe to their favourite producers. The monthly cost in India has been disclosed to be Rs 89, Rs 440, and Rs 890; in the US, it is expected to cost between $0.99 and $99.99.
Indian creators are currently unable to monetize their fans via a subscription model. However, the app does offer Indian consumers the chance to subscribe to US-based producers. Along with the purple subscriber badge, users may view information about the exclusive content they can access through the membership, such as stories and live videos.
Instagram and Twitter are each developing their own versions of OnlyFans, an app that enables online producers to post “exclusive” material that is only accessible to their fans and requires some sort of monthly fee.
