Votes on twitter for Policy Changes?

Twitter CEO Elon Musk, announced on 19th December through a tweet that he will conduct votes on twitter through polls regarding major policy changes. In regards to this, he also addressed the fact that there were a lot of issues to be addressed by twitter and they will be working on it shortly by keeping what works and changing what doesn’t. Musk acknowledged on Sunday and stated that he will hold votes on important policy changes.

Minutes later, he posted a poll asking if he should resign. The Twitter Safety account later conducted a poll on whether the policy of eliminating accounts promoting other social networking sites should be implemented. Twitter also announced a policy change over the weekend, prohibiting accounts “created solely” to promote other competing social networks.

This decision resulted in the suspension of at least one prominent account, prompting Musk to announce he’ll change the policy barely hours after it was implemented. His rewriting of Twitter’s rules has also provoked resentment among users and advertisers, leading to uncertainty about what content can and cannot be posted.

Twitter declared on Sunday that users will no longer be able to promote their accounts on competing social networking platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, but the site’s unpredictable owner and CEO Elon Musk appeared to backtrack on the new policy just hours later. The abrupt change in the regulations was the latest in a series of a number of contentious adjustments made by Musk since taking over the firm in October.
