YouTube TV is now offering 5.1 audio on Google TV, Android TV, and other platforms

YouTube TV is now supporting 5.1 surround sound on Android, Google TV, and Roku devices. This was first noticed in February, and YouTube TV announced in March that it was in active testing.

Surround sound has previously only been available on Chromecasts with Cast and “Samsung + LG + Vizio devices with Cobalt 20 or higher.” The 5.1 audio expansion for Google TV, Android TV, and Roku will “roll out this week.”

A compatible speaker system is also required, with YouTube TV playing in surround sound when available. In the “Stats for Nerds” menu, you can manually examine a program’s audio details.

According to the tweet, they are now expanding on the 5.1 channel audio experience on their streaming platform. Especially those running on various devices.

It is now compatible with Google TV via the Chromecast device, Roku, and its Fire technology. It will also be available for Android TV, which will be able to receive updates over the air. The audio experience will be separate from the YouTube TV experience.

The streams, on the other hand, will help to provide more of what the public requires. Because it will have crisper audio and distinct sound stages for spectacular effects. A 5.1 channel has many advantages, according to Dolby, because it is a surround sound system that specialises in presenting fresh sound to everyone.

In the future, YouTube TV will continue to work internally and with partners to enable 5.1 on Apple TV, Fire TV, and game consoles.
