Zara Plans To Restart Its Operations In Russia
According to Investing.com, Oscar Garcia Maceiras, the CEO of Inditex, a Spanish clothes retailer, stated that the brand would like to come back to the Russian market.
The company is still keeping an eye on the market situation in Ukraine. He stated that Inditex plans to resume collaboration with Russia as soon as the conditions for cooperation improve.
Inditex is the parent company of Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius, and Pull&Bear, among other brands. After Russia commenced a military intervention in Ukraine, Inditex closed over 500 of its storefronts in the nation.
Meanwhile, when questioned about the decision of Zara, H&M, and Uniqlo to quit the Russian market, Russian President Vladimir Putin used a Russian adage that literally means “a holy place is never empty”.
Russian companies and designers, as per Putin, may take their place.
“If someone leaves the Russian market, then the holy place is never empty. I would like domestic manufacturers to take it,” Putin said.
