Oppo launched Oppo A78 5G smartphone earlier this year with MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core processor paired with up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Just within the span of a few months, the company has begun working on its successor Oppo A79 5G smartphone which has already made rounds to a number of certification websites like UAE’s TDRA, Thailand’s NBTC, Singapore’s IMDA, SIRIM, and TUV Rheinland.
Ahead of its official launch its specifications, renders, and marketing materials have been leaked by appuals in an exclusive report.
Its renders and marketing material suggest that it will come with a flat display with a punch-hole cutout to house the selfie camera. The rear of the smartphone is revealed to feature a dual camera setup featuring a Silver Dial Double Ring Design with a Stainless Steel Metal Ring.
Let’s get to know about the specs of the Oppo A79 5G
The Oppo A79 5G smartphone is revealed to come with a 6.72-inch wide LCD panel with a center punch hole cutout. It can boast an FHD+ resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 680 nits and 91.4% screen-to-body ratio, a 1400:1 contrast ratio, and a 96% NTSC color gamut.
The report mentioned that it can be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor paired with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. As an add it can support RAM expansion up to 8 GB, with options for 4 GB, and 6 GB. Its storage can also be expanded up to 1 TB.
The camera section is revealed to feature a 50 MP Samsung JN1 5P lens with an f/1.8 aperture and a 77° field of view primary camera on the rear. The secondary camera can be of 2 MP Portrait OmniVision OVO2B1B 3P lens with an f/2.4 aperture and an 89° field of view. For selfies, it can boast an 8 MP OmniVision OVO8D 4P lens featuring an f/2.0 aperture and an 80° field of view.
As far as the power section is concerned it can be backed by a 5000 mAh battery that supports 33W SUPERVOOC charging through the USB Type C port. It can run ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. Additionally, it can also come with Screen Translate, Auto Pixelate, Photo information, and Privacy Protection. Stereo speakers with an Ultra Volume mode can also be seen with it.
Coming onto the dimension the Oppo A79 5G is revealed to measure 7.99 mm in thickness and weigh 193 grams. The report also mentions that it will come with a 36-month Fluency Protection certification. It can come in Glowing Green and Mystery Black color options and can boast a new back design that the company says is the “Glowing Feather Design”.
