Aditya L-1 succeeds on reaching final destination; President and Prime Minister congratulated the scientists and the nation

The Aditya L-1 mission spacecraft was launched by ISRO aboard the PSLV C57 at 11:50 am IST on September 2, 2023. It took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota. Recent updates have asserted that the Sun-bound Aditya L-1 spacecraft successfully landed at the final destination, Larange Point L1 point on Friday, 6 January 2024 at 4:17 pm IST.

For the unversed, the mission of Aditya L-1 is to study the Sun extensively and pave new aspects for research. It is the maiden observatory by India to study the Sun.

India’s President and Prime Minister took to the social media platform X and congratulated ISRO and the nation on the successful maneuver of India’s first Sun-bound mission.

President Droupadi Murmu congratulated the entire scientific community for their great achievement. She also expressed that women’s significant participation in ISRO missions notches up the nation’s women empowerment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the other hand stated that the success of the mission is a testament to the relentless dedication of the nation’s scientists. He further expressed that the nation will continue pursuing new frontiers in the field of science to be beneficial to the human community.
