It’s Christmas and the world is beaming with lights and celebrations. During this time, astronauts at the faraway International Space Station sent their wishes down to Earth. They sent a video expressing what the holiday season is like for them at the station while also sharing their Christmas and New Year wishes with everyone on Earth.

The video featured NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara along with European Space Agency’s Andreas Mogensen and Japan’s Satoshi Furukawa.
The astronauts recorded the video in the Kibo laboratory. A beautiful decora of flags was also presented overhead.

Satoshi and Mogensen shared their messages in Japanese and Danish respectively.
At present seven astronauts are stationed at the International Space Station. Mogensen, Moghbeli, and Furukawa went as part of the Expedition 69 crew on SpaceX’s crew-7 flight. They reached the station in August 2023 along with other crew members but stayed on to join the Expedition 70 increment. On the other hand, O’Hara reached the station in September 2023 on a Soyuz spacecraft. The other three astronauts currently stationed at the ISS are Konstantin Borisov, Oleg Kononenko, and Nikolai Chub. All of them are on a six-month mission in orbit.
Before this, NASA recently captured a cluster of young stars in the Milky Way. This image of the NGC 2264 is labeled as Christmas Tree Cluster as it depicts the shape of a cosmic tree glowing with stellar lights.
