Dhruva Space confirms success of LEAP-TD mission, company now open to provide hosted payload solutions to the global market

Dhruva Space, the Spacetech startup in its recent updates confirmed the success of the LEAP-TD mission. The LEAP-TD mission comprises a Dhruva Space P-30 Satellite Platform which has been integrated into ISRO’s PSLV Orbital Experimental Module 3 (POEM-3).

The P-30 Satellite Platform was launched as ‘Launching Expeditions for Aspiring Payloads – Technology Demonstrator’ Payload on 1 January 2024 at 9:10 IST. The launch happened at the First Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

With this success, Dhruva Space is now open to provide services as a hosted payload solutions provider. Dhruva Space through its LEAP initiative can now provide hosted payload solutions for Space missions in the global market.

Dhruva Space also asserted that the company’s first LEAP satellite mission (LEAP-1) has already conceived. The company is looking forward to launching the same soon.

For the unversed, a hosted payload service includes a portion of the satellite. This can be a sensor, an instrument, or a set of communications transponders that are owned by an entity other than the primary satellite operator. The hosted portion of the satellite is capable of operating independently from the main spacecraft. However, it shares power supply with the spacecraft, transponders, and sometimes, ground systems too.
