Highly anticipated NASA’s Artemis I, all set to launch on Monday

The highly anticipated NASA’s Artemis I is all set to be launched on Monday. It comes in as the largest and powerful space rocket ever to the moon.

The weather saw rain and thunderstorms on Saturday. Even so, the authorities adhered to the plan and managed to schedule the launch from the Space Agencies Kennedy Space Center in Florida for Monday, 29 August.

According to reports, the lightning protection system towers at Launch Pad 39B faced three lightning strikes. This includes one strike to Tower 1 and two strikes to Tower 2.

The authorities are expecting thousands of spectators and whole lot of buzz at the Florida’s space coast on Monday.

The Artemis I launch is the second mission to the moon since the 1972 Apollo mission.

The laid out plan will send an uncrewed Orion Spacecraft on a six-week trip to the lunar orbit and back. The Artemis I will take off from Pad 39B. Post Artemis I’s success, Artemis II and Artemis III will send humans to the lunar orbit and the lunar surface.

The long-term plan is to establish human presence permanently on the lunar surface. Through this, astronomers and researchers will try to find out how to do the same on Mars.

Post Artemis I’s success, NASA will send two astronauts, inclusive of the first woman, to land at the Moon’s South Pole. Along with them, up to two other astronauts will stay back in the lunar orbit in a command module.
