How many Galaxies are there in this universe?

Whereas there are uncountable galaxies. According to The Hubble Space Telescope, there are 10,000 galaxies which they found while analysing for 12 days.

However, all the galaxies are of difficult spaces, sizes and colours. Also, some scientists claim that there could be over one billion galaxies in the whole universe.

Additionally, some galaxies are circle in shape, some in a smooth and oval shape. Such galaxies are known as elliptical galaxies. There are also many galaxies which have irregular shapes and look too different.

Also, the astronomers conclude that there are at least 10 times more galaxies in the observable universe than previously thought.

Galaxies are a big part of the universe that populate the universe. But counting the galaxies is a super hard task.

The galaxy’s counts are in billions, so once the count enters millions, it becomes very hard to count it. Apart from the counts, even for looking at it, it needs good instruments. So to get the best view, a telescope is needed for looking deep into the sky.

Moreover, according to Livio, the Hubble Space Telescope has been successful in the galaxy counting process since it launched its telescope in 1990.

The telescope can see even a small patch in the sky, according to NASA. If you hold your thumb at arm’s length to cover the moon, the Hubble eXtreme Deep Field (XDF) area would be about the size of the head of a pin.

And by collecting light over many hours of observation, the XDF reveals that there are thousands of galaxies. So if a small spot has so many galaxies, we can imagine how many galaxies there are in the whole universe.

However, the James Webb Space Telescope claims to reveal more information related to galaxies and the universe, says The Astrophysical Journal.

The stars in Universe –

Adding to galaxies, stars are also a big part of the universe. Stars are huge celestial bodies which are made up of hydrogen and helium which produce light and heat simultaneously.

From the ground, the stars look the tiniest but they are actually too large. Among so many stars, many stars have been named throughout history.

Initially, Johan Bayer is the only scientist who named stars. But now, out of so many stars in Universe, only a few have been named in the history of Astronomy.

Though the traditional astronomy believes to give the proper names to the group of stars and not to each star individually. Although, there are 88 constellations altogether which can be seen through naked eyes.

The following are names of stars which includes Sirius, Antares, Canopus, Alphard, Regulus, Aldebaran, Procyon, Vega, Polaris, Bellatrix, Alnilam, Sargas, Altair, Capella, and many more. Apart from this, there are many stars which are individually named.
