India to become self reliant for Lithium as it uncovers another massive reserves in Rajasthan

This is definitely a turning point for India as it has unearthed another massive reserve of lithium in the state of Rajasthan. Previously, we shared that India had discovered a major reserve of lithium in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, the mining secretary saidHave recommended transaction advisor to Jammu and Kashmir government for lithium reserves auction”

According to a report by MoneyControl, these newly discovered reserves in Rajasthan are expected to be even larger than those found in Jammu and Kashmir. If these reports are true, India will become more self-reliant in the manufacturing of batteries and reduce its dependency on other countries for lithium imports.

Lithium, the lightest and softest metal on the planet, is a nonferrous metal that can convert chemical energy into electrical energy. It is a critical component in electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

Money Control reports that Australia produces 47 percent of the world’s lithium, while Chile and China account for 30 percent and 15 percent, respectively. However, China processes the highest amount of lithium at 58 percent, with 29 percent processed in Chile and 10 percent in Argentina.
