ISRO is all set to launch GSLV-F12/NVS-01 mission on Monday, May 29, 2023 from SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota

Indian Space Research Organisation will launch the GSLV-F12/NVS-01 mission on Monday, May 29, 2023, at 10:42 hours IST from the second launch pad at SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota. This mission has been designed to deploy the NVS-01 navigation satellite which weighs 2232 Kg into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit. In order to take the satellite to the intended orbit subsequent orbit-raising maneuvers will be used.

If we talk about the NVS-01 it’s the first of the second-generation satellites envisaged for the Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) services. A series of NVS satellites will sustain and augment NavIC with enhanced features. ISRO also mentioned that it will be for the first time an indigenous atomic clock will be flown in NVS-01.

Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) is a regional navigation satellite system to meet the positioning, navigation, and timing requirements of the nation. It has been designed with 7 satellites and a network of ground stations. Those who want to witness this moment of the launch can simply go on the ISRO website and register to witness it.
