ISRO’s launch of PSLV-C52 satellite on 14 February
ISRO is set to launch its satellite PSLV-C52 as its first launch in the year 2022.
ISRO’s launch of PSLV-C52 satellite is coming soon. ISRO will launch PSLV-C52 satellite on 14th February 2022 at 05:59 hours. It will launch from First Launch Pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Bengaluru.
Additionally, on 24th January 2022, ISRO completed post mission disposal (PMD) of INSAT-4B. Moreover, it is the 21st Indian GEO satellite to undergo post mission disposal. Disposal is in compliance with the UN and (IADC) Inter Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee’s guidelines. It reached the altitude of nearly 340 Km. Thus, abiding by IADC’s guidelines. PMD was included in the initial fuel budget itself of the GEO satellite.
Details of ISRO’s launch of PSLV-C52
PSLV-C52 will launch at 05:59 hours. Although, it is only after completing a countdown process of 25 hours and 30 minutes. Thus, the countdown process will begin at 04:29 hours on 13th February 2022. Moreover, the countdown process will commence on the authorisation of Local Authorisation Board.
Functions and other facts of PSLV-C52
PSLV-C52 will orbit around an earth observation satellite, EOS-04. It weighs 1710 Kg. It will orbit in sun synchronous polar orbit of 529 Km.
PSLV-C52 will store two other small satellites:
- INSPIREsat-1, a student satellite. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) in collaboration with Laboratory of Atmospheric and Space Physics at University of Colorado, Boulder.
- INS-2TD, a demonstrator satellite. It’s a precursor satellite of India-Bhutan Joint Satellite (INS-2B)
