All 36 satellites were successfully sent into orbit around 75 minutes after a rocket was launched earlier in the day. It was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The festival celebrations at Satish Dhawan Space Center have started, according to ISRO Chairman S Somanath. Who was speaking to the gathering at the Flight Control Center after LVM3 and its maiden commercial mission completed the orbit?
Before that, the 43.5-meter-tall rocket launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center’s second launch pad at 12.07 am on Sunday. Which happened after a 24-hour countdown. The vehicle holds the distinction of being one of the heaviest due to its ability to transfer satellites weighing up to 8,000 kg.
OneWeb is a constellation of 648 satellites being placed in low Earth orbit. In addition to the 36 satellites that were launched on Sunday. The second group of satellites was scheduled to be launched at the start of 2023.
ISRO also tweeted a few images of the liftoff of LVM3.
