NASA invite creators to experience the launch of Artemis I

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is inviting Digital creators to register to attend the Artemis I launch of NASA’s Space Launch System rocket carrying the Orion spacecraft from Space Launch Complex 39B at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

According to NASA, Artemis I will be an uncrewed flight test to send Orion around the Moon and back to Earth over a six-week mission to check out systems before the crew flies aboard Artemis II. Through Artemis missions, NASA will land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon, paving the way for a long-term lunar presence and serving as a steppingstone to sending astronauts to Mars.

“If your passion is to communicate and engage the world via social media, then this is the event for you! Seize the opportunity to be on the front line to blog, tweet, or Instagram everything about NASA’s Artemis I launch,” a source as per nasa.gov.

The event will take place over three days, including the launch itself, and the two days prior. The launch is currently slated to take place no earlier than August 29, 2022. A maximum of 100 digital creators will be selected to attend this three-day event and will be given access similar to news media.

On Thursday, July 21, NASA Social registration for the Artemis I launch opens on this page and the deadline to apply is on Tuesday, July 26 at 5:00 p.m. EDT. All applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
