Rooftop View of Atlas V launch with the GOES-T satellite
The launch of Atlas V happened on the 1st of march. However new video surfaced on the internet which has a rooftop view of the launch. The view is quite amazing and you could see how the spacecraft started to appear in front of the camera.
Uma das filmagens maks legais do lançamento do Atlas V com o satélite GOES-T, a filmagem foi feita do roof-top da plataforma de lançamento!!!! Great view @torybruno , thanks for sharing with us!!! pic.twitter.com/E0MRbFCd49

The Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES)-T spacecraft is the third of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES)-R Series, which NOAA officials characterise as “the Western Hemisphere’s most comprehensive weather-observing and environmental-monitoring system.”
“The GOES-R Series provides improved photography and atmospheric data, real-time mapping of lightning activity, and space weather monitoring,” NOAA officials noted in a programme description.
GOES-T is planned for geostationary orbit, which is approximately 22,300 miles (35,900 kilometres) above Earth’s surface. The satellite will be dubbed GOES-18 once it arrives. After mission management has completed testing of the GOES-18 satellite’s systems and scientific sensors, it will enter operation as GOES-West, replacing the GOES-17 satellite. GOES-17 will be used as a spare in orbit. (Yes, the nomenclature is quite perplexing.)
NOAA officials said GOES-18 will collaborate with GOES-16, which is presently operating as GOES-East, to “watch over more than half the globe – from the west coast of Africa to New Zealand.”
