Scientists reveals first pictures of the gigantic black hole!

Astronomers have just disclosed the first image of the Sagittarius A* or Sgr A*, the super-gigantic black hole at the center of galaxy. According to the scientists, it’s the first direct appearance as a visual evidence of this black hole.

Consequently, the picture was captured by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). It is an array which links together eight radio observatories across the planet. Consequently, which forms a single Earth-sized virtual telescope. The telescope is named “event horizon”, defining the boundary of black hole from which no light can escape.

Scientists previously saw the stars orbiting around something invisible, but very massive at the center of the Milky Way. This strongly said that this something is Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*, pronounced “sadge-ay-star”). Consequently, the picture gave an overwhelming evidence that the object is indeed a black hole. Also, it gave a clue about the workings of such giants, residing at the center of most galaxies.

Although, the event horizon is not visible itself, because it cannot emit light. The glowing gas around the black hole revealed a dark central region, a “shadow,” surrounded by a glowing ring-like structure. The picture captured the light bent by the powerful gravity of the black hole estimated to be of 4 million times more huge than our sun.
