Thinking about how long coronavirus can live on a smartphone?

Smartphones have been an important part of our lives today thus making it more exposed to the virus. Due to the recent outbreak of novel COVID-19 or coronavirus have made people concerned about how long can this virus stay on their smartphones. Now we will discuss below the study done earlier in 2003 for the SARS-CoV virus which is similar to the COVID-19 or coronavirus.

So in the study done by the WHO (World Health Organisation) for the SARS-CoV virus it can stay on the glass surfaces for 96 hours (four days) and can last on plastic surfaces for 72 hours (three days). Now in a recent study done by the United States’ National Institutes of Health for novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) it can stay on glass hard surfaces for 72 hours (three days) the same as the SARS-CoV virus.

The study also furnished that it can stay on cardboard surfaces for 24 hours and cooper for 4 hours. However the NIH study didn’t say for how long it can stay on glass other factors point in the same direction as of the earlier SARS-CoV virus 2003. So we can say it can stay on the glass surfaces for 96 hours (4 days).

Since all the smartphones come with glass screens it can stay on it for 96 hours (4 Days). And this also includes all the other gadgets like TV, Laptop, Desktop screens, Tablets, etc.

Now to clean your surfaces we recommend using a microfiber cloth to clean the surfaces, and use a solution that consists of 70% isopropyl alcohol solution or disinfecting wipes that are also recommended by Apple.
