Clamshell-Like Foldable iPhone by Apple Could Arrive in 2022 or 2023
Apple is said to be working on a clamshell-like folding iPhone to be released in the future. The smartphone will have comparable performance to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The latest revelation says that the uncertain timeframe for the introduction of Apple’s first foldable iPhone is supposed to be around 2022 or 2023. This is by recent rumors that say that Apple will be releasing its first folding iPhone in September 2022, not next year. The folding iPhone is supposed to come with help from 5G.
YouTuber Jon Prosser, in his new video, says that Apple is currently planning on getting the folding iPhone platform to the future. Work is already in its early stages, and the firm is currently testing a clamshell-like iPhone shell at a Foxconn factory in Shenzhen, China. Prosser posted a concept picture of the folding iPhone, indicating that it could have a flip-like design, the same as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. This iPhone is said to flip open and expose a large screen, although there will also be a smaller display in the outer shell.
This phone model is intended to give audiences a general idea of what Apple may be looking for and is not an example of what the first foldable iPhone might look like. In any case, Prosser believes that it will be launched by Apple sometime in 2022 or 2023.
Apart from that, he also shares that his sources have not yet obtained any information on the alleged Apple Vehicle. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently announced that the Apple Car market is ‘too bullish’ and should not be predicted before or after 2028. A sketchy article was published recently saying that Apple was unveiling an Apple car in September 2021.
Moving back to folding phones, Samsung and Motorola are actually the only two companies to sell such handsets on the market. Several OEMs have released model renderings of cell phones, but have not begun marketing folding phones to the masses. With Apple reportedly joining this room in the future, it will drive other OEMs into the folding segment of the phone as well.
